How to apply for a nursing home framework
Nursing home places are bought through council and NHS frameworks, often with NHS continuing healthcare funding in the mix. You pass a selection stage, then score on clinical governance, registered nurse cover, pressure care, medication and how you manage deteriorating residents. Who buys and how
Nursing homes sit at the join of council social care and NHS funding, so frameworks often cover both social care placements and continuing healthcare funded beds. Some are joint council and integrated care board arrangements, advertised on a council portal or on the NHS portal Atamis. Bands and lots tend to follow need: general nursing, dementia nursing, and complex or end-of-life care each carry different evidence expectations. Funded Nursing Care contributions and CHC packages can sit alongside the council rate, so understanding who pays for which bed shapes how you respond.
Eligibility and clinical registration
Selection checks CQC registration for nursing care, insurance, and financial standing, and many frameworks gate on a CQC rating of Good or above. Many nursing frameworks include CHC-funded and fast-track end-of-life beds, and reward evidence of managing high-acuity care, advance care planning and coordination with district nurses, GPs and specialist palliative teams. If you have CHC experience, evidence it clearly. Submit through the right portal, council or Atamis, in the exact format requested and ahead of the deadline.
