In-Tend: a guide for care providers
In-Tend is a widely used e-tendering portal that many councils and NHS bodies run their procurement on. You register a free supplier account, then express interest in an opportunity to download the documents and submit your bid through the portal. For care providers it works much like ProContract: keep your profile and category alerts current so local care tenders reach you.
How In-Tend works
Each buyer runs its own In-Tend site, so you may register separately for different councils or trusts. Once registered, you find opportunities in the current tenders list, express interest, and the documents become available to you. You complete and upload your responses and submit them through the portal before the deadline.
Tips for care bidders
Set up alerts using care terms such as home care, supported living and residential care. Express interest early so you have the full pack and any clarifications in good time. Use the portal's messaging area to ask clarification questions, because answers are often shared with all bidders and can change how you write an answer.

Common questions
Do I need a separate In-Tend account for each council?
Often yes. Buyers run their own In-Tend sites, so you may register on more than one. Some regional bodies share a single site that covers several authorities.
How do I express interest on In-Tend?
Find the opportunity in the current tenders list and click to express interest. The tender documents then become available in your account, and you submit your response through the portal.
Is In-Tend free for suppliers?
Yes. Registering and bidding as a supplier on In-Tend is free. You only need a valid account and the documents the buyer requires for that tender.
